The Inuvialuit Water Board oversees water licensing and management, supporting sustainable development and environmental protection in the Western Arctic.

Inuvialuit Water Board (IWB) is the regional authority responsible for regulating and managing the use of inland waters within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Operating under the Inuvialuit Final Agreement, the board issues water licences, conducts technical reviews, and ensures that projects meet environmental standards while respecting Inuvialuit rights and community priorities. IWB plays a central role in supporting responsible development and safeguarding water resources across the Western Arctic.
